Start with the meal you need

Coffee stop, family meal or an evening out?

For breakfast, compare the Main Street food service at Talia, the early hours at Cagney’s Kitchen, Dom’s bakery choices and Wilkes Coffee Company’s all-day breakfast. For barbecue, Cinder Bistro and Brushy Mountain Smokehouse publish different schedules and menu formats. For pizza, the guide includes downtown choices in both towns and an Italian restaurant along US 421.

Search by a restaurant name or food style, then choose a town. Open a profile’s hours and planning details before you set out. The profiles describe published offerings; they are not first-hand reviews or a ranking of the restaurants.

Choose what sounds good

Planning a Sunday meal?

The posted schedules have several important differences. Dom Bakeries, Talia on Main, Roselli’s and Brushy Mountain Smokehouse list Sunday as closed. Cagney’s Kitchen lists a 2 p.m. Sunday closing, and Cinder Bistro lists 3 p.m.

For a later Sunday stop, check TwoBoros, The Lost Wombat, Dooley’s or Plaza Del Sol. Wilkes Coffee Company publishes Sunday café hours as well. These are published weekly schedules, so confirm holiday or event-day changes directly.

Plan around the two downtowns

Downtown North Wilkesboro

Main Street includes Cinder Bistro at 532, Zack’s at 600, Talia at 809 and The Lost Wombat at 810. Nearby profiles include Dom on D Street, Roselli’s on 10th, TenTen Thai on D Street and 6th & Main on 6th Street.

The official downtown parking page explains on-street spaces and public lots. Some on-street parking has a two-hour limit; check the signs where you park.

Downtown Wilkesboro

Dooley’s at 102 East Main and TwoBoros at 111 East Main provide different downtown meal options. Wilkes Coffee Company is at 100 West Main. Choose the town and exact street address when setting directions, since both downtowns use Main Street addresses.

Pair your meal with the local attractions guide or check Wilkes County events for the day you plan to visit.

Speedway & busy event days

Choose a meal window before the race

Start with the day and time, then check the restaurant profile. A café’s closing time may be later than its food-service cutoff, while a tavern’s late hours may extend beyond its restaurant kitchen. Downtown locations also have different weekday opening patterns.

Open the Speedway visitor guide
  • Early breakfast: check Cagney’s Kitchen or Wilkes Coffee Company’s published opening times.
  • Wednesday or Thursday lunch: TwoBoros publishes a 4 p.m. opening on those days, so choose another lunch option.
  • Reservations: 6th & Main provides a direct phone contact for reservation requests.
  • Takeout: use the restaurant’s linked ordering page or call to confirm the pickup time before placing an order.
  • A backup: choose a second place with a different service window and allow for traffic on major event days.
